AUGUST 5, 2010 Join John and Lynn Wadhams, and Mike Cascia, trip leaders, for an excursion to Bard College, in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, to see a rollicking performance of this tune-filled Viennese operetta (sung in English) at the stunning new $62 million Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College, designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry.
The
trip price of $150 includes: We depart from Bob's Store lot in Enfield at 4:30 PM; from Wood Memorial Library at 5:00 PM; and West Hartford's Saint Joseph College at 5:30 before traveling non-stop to the Fisher Center. The trip takes just under two hours. The Curtain is 8:00 PM. We depart from the Fisher Center at 10:15 PM. We will have a super comfortable 54 passenger air conditioned coach from Post Road Stages in South Windsor. The trip will be led by John and Lynn Wadhams and by Michael Cascia. This will be the 32nd opera trip that John and Lynn have led, including 28 to the Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown. This will be their 4th trip to Bard. Mike has also led trips to Glimmerglass as well as the Metropolitan Opera. John is President of Connecticut Concert Opera, which he founded in 1991, and is Executive Director of Wood Memorial Library and Museum in South Windsor. Mike is a storehouse of opera knowledge and his enthusiasm has filled the ranks of adult classes in Enfield, Springfield, and West Hartford. The trip to Bard will be filled with fun, musical previews of the show, and great camaraderie. A number of seats have been sold just by word of mouth, and we only have 40 tickets.
