Wood Memorial Library

Pathways
and Blossoms-a South Windsor Garden Tour will be
held on Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Co-sponsored
by the Down to Earth Garden Club and Wood Memorial Library, the tour will offer
the opportunity to stroll through 8 local gardens, each reflecting its owner's
style and personality. Plants from Club members' gardens will be on sale at one
of the tour houses.
Tickets
are $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the tour. Children
10 and older are welcome with a ticket. Tickets are available from Garden Club
members and at the following locations: Gilson Farm Greenhouses, Crandall and
Daughter, Foster Family Farm and Wood Memorial Library in South Windsor; Garden
Sales in Manchester; Juknis Farms in Broad Brook and Agway in Ellington. Tickets
may also be purchased at the tour houses on the day of the tour.
During
the garden tour you may also enjoy a box lunch prepared by Melody's Creative Catering.
The box lunches are $10, pre-paid by June 2,
and
will be available at Wood Memorial Library on the day
of the tour
from 11 a. m. to 1 p.m. The order form is available in the Garden Tour Ticket

The
Gallery at Wood Memorial Library will feature artwork by Catherine Elliott, noted
for her flower and landscape paintings of Connecticut and Ireland.
Catherine Elliott is a member of the Lyme Art Association, and her work is exhibited
in the Petrini Gallery in Avon, the P.S. Gallery in Litchfield, Puffins Gallery
in Watch Hill, RI, Brick Gallery in Essex, CT, as well as the Lyme Art Association's
Gallery in Old Lyme, CT.
There
will also be a same day raffle for numerous items generously donated by local
businesses. Raffle tickets will be available at most of the tour houses and at
the Library.
