Local Libraries to Celebrate
the 250th Anniversary of East Windsor
with a Scavenger Hunt Event

A collaboration between five local libraries located in three different towns has resulted in an extraordinary scavenger hunt that will entertain and educate all while Celebrating the 250th Anniversary of East Windsor. The event will run for the entire month of February and will showcase Warehouse Point Library and Broad Brook Library in East Windsor, Wood Memorial Library and South Windsor Public Library in South Windsor and Hall Memorial Library in Ellington.  BBLibSketchThe scavenger hunt will introduce visitors to the shared history of the libraries as well as highlight what makes them each unique and different.  “250 years ago all of these libraries would have been within the town limits of East Windsor. library epThey have a shared history and each has a different story to tell within that history,” says Paul Anderson, 250th Anniversary Committee Member and President of the Broad Brook Library Association.

Participants can pick up a free scavenger hunt booklet at any of the five participating libraries and The Book Club Bookstore & More beginning February 1st.  They then visit each library searching out the objects and after completing the hunt they can be entered into a drawing for one of two-$50 dollar gift certificates to The Book Club Bookstore & More located in South Windsor. (Please check open hours at each library as some are not open every day of the week.)SW Lib Image “When we were approached to sponsor this event it seemed like a perfect fit and something we definitely wanted to be involved in,” says owner, Cynde Acento.  “Our first location was in Broad Brook before moving to South Windsor a year ago so we have close ties to the towns involved.”
