News of note to art lovers
Bus trip Sunday, June 7:  John and Lynn Wadhams are planning to lead a trip to see the exhibit which has recently opened at the Jewish Museum in New York, "Reclaimed: Paintings from the Collection of Jacques Goudstikker". Goudstikker was the preeminent Jewish art dealer in Amsterdam whose vast collection of Dutch Old Master pieces was seized

by the Nazis and some of it was ultimately reclaimed. The exhibit was curated by Peter C. Sutton, an expert in Dutch art. Sutton is General Director of the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, and was previously Director of the Wadsworth Atheneum.

The trip is planned for Sunday June 7, and will cost $65, including transportation and admission to the Museum and a guided docent-led tour. The Jewish Museum has an attractive, reasonably priced café. Also, the permanent exhibit at the Museum is amazing in its scope and scholarship as well. If you would like to accompany us on a tour to the Jewish Museum to see the exhibit, call Wood Library at (860) 289-1783. Wood Library accepts VISA and MasterCard.
