Second Saturday Event: CT Open House Day

open_house_logo_1.5 The Wood will be participating in the 13th Annual Connecticut Open House Day with special events and activities.  There is no pre-registration or fee for this event.

Enjoy wagon rides down “Old” Main Street!

In celebrate of the release of the new history book, Images of America: South Windsor, written by Archivist and Author, Claire Lobdell, The Wood has created a South Windsor Past Meets Present map. Come by the museum, pick up a map, then take a trip around town and stop to see how the past meets the present using images from the new book.

Second Saturday Event: Historic Main Street

Join us for the History of Main Street Tour
 
Stop by The Wood and pick up a map to lead you on a self-guided tour of “Old” Main Street. Then at your leisure walk, bike or drive down Historic Main Street in South Windsor to learn some fun and interesting facts about the town’s history. Come and see the architecture and buildings that make up the oldest street in town. Learn about the first colonists to settle on this street and some of their stories.  There is a lot of history on this old main street so, come get a map and learn about our town.
