Master Classes with Pastry Chef and Culinary Arts Instructor Kristine Hastreiter
Join us for one or both hands-on workshops with Pasty Chef and Gingerbread Artist Kristine Hastreiter. The workshops can be taken individually or together. All are welcome – from beginners to more advanced house makers! Kristine will share her tips, insights and practical approaches for assembling and decorating YOUR creative gingerbread vision. Both workshops will be held at Wood Memorial Library & Museum at 783 Main Street in South Windsor, CT.
Workshop #2: Decorating Your Gingerbread Creation
Materials for creating your own decorations: fondant, modeling chocolate, royal icing, isomalt/pulled sugar
Hand-crafted decorations:Flat, architectural elements, 2D components
Modeling, figurines, 3D components
Store bought decorations: candy, cookies, cake decorating embellishments
Please bring your assembled house to the workshop.
About Chef Kristine
Chef Kristine Hastreiter has extensive experience in the field of visual and culinary arts. She is currently an adjunct professor at Bristol Community College in Fall River, MA and for 8 years she was the lead pastry artist and owner of Gourmet & Gourmand, a small artisan bakery in Wareham, MA. She has participated in many gingerbread contests and festivals! She’s worked as a consultant to small and mid-sized museums, helping with exhibit concepts, installations, special events and programs.
Fee for one workshop is $50 or register for both for $100.
