CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF ENRICHING LIFE IN SOUTH WINDSOR

WOOD MEMORIAL LIBRARY AND MUSEUM PROUDLY PRESENTS
A FAMILY CONCERT EXPERIENCE –  SUNDAY, MARCH 27, 2011 2 PM 
WML&M welcomes two internationally recognized young talents: Nelson Ebo, tenor vocalist and David Garrido Cid, pianist performing “MUSIC OF THE HEART”, an afternoon of passionate opera pieces. Join us for a wonderful family musical experience and to hear the heartwarming success stories of these two hardworking talented young men: Nelson who used his beautiful voice to support his 15 siblings in Angola and David with a talent that earned him awards and took him from Venezuela to Spain to Hartt and then Yale. Refreshments will be served. 
 
Please arrive in time to be seated: the concert will begin promptly at 2PM. 
Cost: $5 per person or $15 per family of three or more. PIANO AND VOICE STUDENTS ARE FREE when accompanied by their teacher or teacher’s note.

AMERICAN GIRL MOTHER DAUGHTER TEA – SATURDAY, APRIL 2, 2011  
SESSION ONE: 1 TO 3 PM (Tea then performance) 
SESSION TWO: 2 TO 4 PM (Performance then tea)  
Girls, ages 6 to 12, are invited to bring their mom and their doll to meet storyteller and actress Joan Gutturna, as she presents “Tea, Trouble and Mrs. Revere”. Rachel Revere and the Revere children were there for it all, from the Boston Tea Party to Paul’s famous midnight ride. Selected children from the audience will have the chance to dress in costumes and reenact some of the events experienced by the Revere children. Join us to learn about family life in Boston during the American Revolution from Rachel herself. A drawing will be held for prizes, doll clothes by Charlene Dean of Lil Klothes will be available for purchase and for a small fee Sylvia Milne of Shear Beauty will do your doll’s hair. A Tea reception will be part of each session. This program is being partially funded by a NEFA Grant (New England Foundation for the Arts). Seating is limited.
For the American Girl Tea REGISTRATION WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED BY PHONE (860-289-1783) OR BY VISITING THE LIBRARY TO REGISTER IN PERSON ON OR AFTER MONDAY, MARCH 14, 2011 AT 10 AM. Absolutely no mail or advance phone registrations will be accepted. Payment must be made when you register. WML&M accepts Visa and Master Card. 
Cost: $15 for mother and daughter, $7.50 for additional girls. 
 
VACATION FUN! ANN MASI MEMORIAL CHILDREN’S PROGRAM
TUESDAY, APRIL 19, 2011 AT 10AM. TIMOTHY EDWARDS MIDDLE SCHOOL
FAUSTWORK THEATRE‘S “THE MASK MESSENGER” 
All ages are invited to join the fun! The audience will be entertained and amazed as they witness the power of transformation using masks, movement and body language. All children who wear a mask (purchased or homemade) to the program will receive a coupon from Rita’s Italian Ice. This program is co-sponsored by Wood Memorial Library and Museum, the South Windsor Junior Women’s Club and the South Windsor Recreation Department.  The program is FREE but donations to the Ann Masi Memorial Program Fund are welcome. No registration is required.
